Coaches
Brandi Stallings
Brandi has been apart of numerous championships at both the high school and collegiate levels. She played at Jefferson County High School from 1992-1996 where she was a part of four District Championships. She continued her playing career at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB). While at UAB, was a four-year letter winner and co-captain during her junior and senior seasons. In 2001, participated in the NIT Elite Eight, in 2000, her team made UAB history by making the NCAA Sweet Sixteen, and finished 2nd overall in Conference USA.

Brandi has coached on numerous levels, she has spent the last 4 years as an assistant at Knox Central High School, before that she spent time as an assistant under Coach Gene Huskey at Sevier County High School. She was the Head Coach at New Center Middle prior to her time at Sevier County, and spent 1 year as an assistant at Gatlinburg-Pittman High School, where the Highlanders finished 1st in the District.

Brandi Co-founded the Tennessee Select, and serves as co-president of the club, and will coach the Silver and 11u teams for the 2010 season.

Brent Stallings

Brent has coached AAU/travel ball since 2000. In the last 9 years, he has devoted his time to coaching, mentoring, and developing players in the Tennessee Stars and Tennessee Flight Select programs. He spent 2000-2006, coaching the Tennessee Stars under Coach Lynn Burkey, who is the Head Coach at Shelbyville High School. In 2005, he coached the Stars 13u team who finished 5th in the National Classic Tournament in Dayton, Ohio. He spent 1 year in the High Schol ranks as an assistant at Jefferson County High School for the 2007-2008 season.

In 2007, he co-founded the Tennessee Select, Brent serves as co-president of the club and head recruiter for the Flight Select organization. He will be coaching the 13u Navy team and the 10u team for 2010.

Jason Kallenberg

He is the current Head Girls Coach at Knox Central High School. He is in his fourth year directing and rebuilding that program. Coach Kallenberg was named District 3-AAA Coach of the Year for the 2009-2010 season after a 4th place finish.  Prior to Central he spent one year as an Assistant Boys Coach at Fulton High School under Jody Wright. The 2004-2005 season was spent as an Associate Head Women’s Coach at Maryville College where he helped guide the Scots to their 5th straight GSAC conference and tournament championship, and made their 7th straight trip to the NCAA Tournament. His longest coaching tenure was an assistant at Powell High School from 2000-2004. While at Powell he was instrumental in rebuilding the Panthers. The Panthers set a school record for wins in a season with 35, saw their first ever #1 state ranking, was a state-semi finalist, and had 4+ 1,000 point scorers during his time at Powell High School.

Coach K, as he is called by players, is a club director and will coach the 14u Freshman team for 2010


Courtney McDaniel
A former Lady Vol, who was the founder/CEO of Tennessee Attack during the 2009 AAU season, and will now merge with the Flight Select.  During her high school career, she was named a USA Today Honorable Mention All-American as well as a Nike and L'Adidas All American, as well as many other awards. In college, she played for Pat Summitt where she was nicknamed" Minute Maid" due to her ability to log serious stats no matter how many minutes she played. She played professional basketball on the Eurobasket circuit and was awarded Forward of the Year honors.

Courtney is a coach and club director in the Flight Select organization, and gives personal training sessions.  She will assist the 14u freshman team and also coach the 14u Blue team.


Mike Sellers
Mike brings many years of coaching and teaching experience at the AAU level. He has worked in the middle Tennessee area, with clubs like the Murfreesboro Lady Belles and Tennessee Team Pride.  His past successes include state championships and high national finishes in USSSA, YBOA and AAU.  He has returned to the East Tennessee area and is the founder and lead instructor for HoopItUp Basketball Academy.  Mike's experience in AAU team and player developoment will prove very beneficial to the Flight Select Program as it expands to provide teams in all age groups for 2010.  Mike joins the Flight Select's vision of establishing players and teams that will compete at the hightest level and contend for state and national championships.

Mike Sellers will act as a club director and is a primary recruiter for our organzation.  He will coach the 9u and 11u teams for 2010. 

Katie Parton
Katie is entering her fourth year as coach for both the boys junior varsity and girls basketball at Gatlinburg-Pittman High School. She is a 2002 graduate of Gatlinburg-Pittman High School and has taught physical education at Caton’s Chapel Elementary School for four years.

 

Coach Parton began her college career at East Tennessee State University before transferring to Maryville College. She played basketball all four years at Maryville College and was captain during her senior year. Coach Parton received her Bachelors Degree in physical education and health with a minor in Spanish. She hold a Masters Degree in reading and literacy from East Tennessee State University  and is currently working on her ED. Specialist Degree from Lincoln Memorial University.

Coach Parton will be coaching our 10u team and assisting our 13u Navy team for 2010.

Suzanne Singleton
Suzanne completed her high school coaching career in 2001 after spending 13 years as Head Coach of the Maryville High School Lady Rebels.  Since 2003, she has spent time being a color analyst for CSS and WVLT covering Lady Vol games and A-Sun Conference games for CSS.  She has spent time coaching at every level prior to being at Maryville, she was an assistant at Carson-Newman, Head coach at Morristown-West High School, and an assistant at University of South Carolina.  She previously coached AAU in 2007 (12u) and 2008 (13u), where her team finished 9th in the nation in Division I Nationals in Norman, Oklahoma.

While playing in high school, she received all-region and all-state honors before continuing her career as a Lady Vol.  While a Lady Vol, she was a four year starter, served as captain for two years, and was the first player to play for 4 years under Head Coach Pat Summitt.

Coach Singleton will coach the 12u team for 2010.

Sue Martin
Sue has over 20 years of coaching experience at various levels.  She spent six years at Alcoa High School, and 15 years at Alcoa Middle School.  She has coached both boys and girls in AAU and Jr Pro taking them to national tournaments in both organizations.  As a high school player, she made all-state in her senior season.  She went onto play for the University of Tennessee, and was a four year starter.  Under Coach Pat Summitt she was a 1,000 point scorer and served as team captain her senior season.  In 1999, Sue was inducted into the Blount County Sports Hall of Fame.

Coach Martin will assist with 12u team for 2010.

Chris Thompson
Chris is a former Loundon County High School player from 1990-1994 seasons.  He has been a coach in the Loudon parks and recreations youth league for three years.  He as served as an assistant for Loudon Middle School girls and boys teams for two years.  He coached the 15u Tennessee Attack in 2009. He spends his spare time giving personal training sessions for youth basketball in Loudon County.

Coach Thompson will coach the 13u White team for 2010.

Sir David Pettus
Sir David is currently an assistant with the Maryville High School men's varsity and junior varsity basketball teams.  In 2009, he was an assistant for the 10u and 11u Tennessee Attack.  He played basketball at Oak Ridge High School from 1998-2001, where his team went to the state tournament two out of his four years.  Sir David earned his degree from Cumberland University in Special Education and is currently teaching at Maryville High School.
